BluebirdSueParticipantHiya guys and girls
I’m getting more into writing and reading like ever before. In fact I’m hoping to have my own webpage as soon as my first book is ready.
For me there is no great escape from everyday life than reading a book. So if you’re reading this I want to set you a challenge. I want you to find a book. Could be borrowed from a library or bought from a charity stand (in supermarkets, train stations etc). It doesn’t matter what genre it is, fiction or non-fiction the choice is yours. And I want to read all about it. And maybe get the book for myself!
Happy reading!
Love Sue xx
christinaw28ParticipantI have started reading a book called Single Mum’s wish list. Only read a bit of it and already love the story. xx
TeaandcakeParticipantHi, I’ve always wanted to join a Book Club! My friend lent me her copy of ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’ and I loved it. There’s a fab little twist at the end!
BluebirdSueParticipantHello everyone
They both sound like interesting reads. I picked up Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit. Just because I like unusual titles. Only just started it.
Also went to poetry night recently and got up and read in front of people which is something I’ve never done before.
Keep reading, enjoy
Sue π
xxxParticipantIs there any where u can just read a book online I don’t have a kindle. I have picked a book title and want to start NOW! It will take a week to order book online and I can’t get to shopo with toddlers in tow til end of the week grrrr lol
xxxParticipantJust discovered kindle app. So brain dead since becoming single mum to two babies 2 years ago – not read a novel since! Anyway have downloaded nine perfect strangers and got a cup of tea and starting now. Happy reading xxxxx
TeaandcakeParticipantOoh, let me know if it’s any good, please!
xxxParticipantIt’s really good! I’m gonna read her other ones afterwards. It’s very witty and the characters are really interesting. It’s like a social comedy although it’s supposed to have a thriller twist I think but I haven’t gotten to that yet.
xxxParticipantIt was good! I have already finished. I am gonna download her other titles now.
GirlWithTheMostCakeParticipantRecently discovered Laura Marshell…her debut novel ‘Friend Request’ is very much a thriller for our time, her recently released second novel ‘Three little lies’ is equally as brilliant, definitely struck a cord with me as someone who had been a misfit at school. After reading ‘Friend Request’ I began following Laura Marshell on Facebook (there’s a certain irony to that given the premise of the book) and was saddened to read her most recent post revealing that her own husband passed away from cancer two weeks ago, leaving her the sole parent to their children.
Other great thrillers I have recently read are ‘Turning Tide’ and ‘You Don’t know me’ by Brooke Magnanti…it turns out she is the prostitute Billy Piper played in ‘Secret Diary of a Call Girl’! And ‘Bonfire’ by Kristen Ritter (actress who plays Jessica Jones on Netflix) All great books and brilliant escapism.
BluebirdSueParticipantHello everyone
Sorry for the late response I’ve been busy this week. I’ve not had chance to read that book I mentioned. I fancied a lighter read so opted for Bridget Jones’ Baby., which is so close to the movue its unreal.
Good news I have found someone who will illustrate my books. So hopefully will have one ready for publication by Christmas π
Keep up the good work xx
TeaandcakeParticipantThat’s great news, Sue! xx
xxxParticipantI’m now half through The Corners hop in Cockleberry Bay which is light entertainment. I much prefer more literary books but this OK.
Really glad I started reading again. I used to read up to 10 novels a fortnight before kids!
Read Capital a few years ago. That was really really good.
BluebirdSueParticipantAll great sound like great reads
I’ve read (and watched Secret Diary of a Call Girl) and saw the documentary about Brooke Magnenti. I also finished reading Bridget Jones’ Baby
I have a been offered help designing a blog but probably will start working on it in June.
I’m looking forward to the creative writing group I am going to on Tuesday. π I’m going to have to find a good light read for my holiday soon
Sue xx
LianeParticipantSounds like fun.
I did a carboot sale yesterday with a friend and the stall opposite suggested buying a book.
I stated that i dont really read but have joined this site from plenty of fish and need distraction.
Gotta pop into the library today aswell so will choose and share wisely……..
