    Good afternoon,

I am new here, I am currently 31 weeks pregnant, ex and I broke up before I knew I was pregnant. I am currenly on furlough due to pandemic, I am receiving around £630 a month which atm is fine, my usual income is around £770 a month before outgoings. I am entitled to statuary maternity pay once I start maternity leave….

After baby is here my total outgoings will be around £1200. Just for essentials and shopping at Aldi etc.

So my question is, can anyone tell me what benefits I will be enitlted to and how much I would be getting? I’ve done calculators however they are all saying I should get nearly £2000 a month, I’ve been told that’s incorrect so I’m not sure where else I can find out.

    Many thanks in advance x

Hope everyone is safe and well

You need to go back to your employer and get a letter indicating your mat pay. I was worse off and my pay went down and I was back at work when child was 10.months old. You are entitled to tax credits after you go back to work if your hours are reduced plus child benefits whrm child is born. I didn’t get any extra money!

Hi, you will get universal credit, child benefit and housing benefit too and your ex have to pay a maintenance so yes you could get about 2000£ per month. Feel free to message me if you need anything xx
