Hi I live in London and am mummy to a little autistic girl. It’s a struggle going to speech therapy appointments, getying to work on time and dealing with household chores and bills so I get very lonely at times. I have a sister and brother but they are busy with their own lives.
I have sent off paperwork to.the council so that my daughter gets her special education support plan in place as she will start school.next year. it’s almost 2 years and we did not get an appointment to see an nhs paediatrician for diagnosis. I had to go privately in the end. I’ve worked all my life and have paid taxes and my daughter was left to get on with it and suffering in silence.
Thank you Jamie bear. We will be fine my daughter is slightly better just feel angry that we are still waiting to see nhs paediatrician. I got the diagnosis in September and bupa did help but did not cover everything . We went out in the snow today but my daughter didn’t really take to it . She was intrigued when watching it from the window but didn’t know what to do with in when we were in garden.
Hello Anonymous it went to panel and was approved. I provided enough evidence from both private and NHS. The private specialist practices at Gosh and we supplied plenty of evidence from private and NHS speech therapist and psychologist. The private nursery was also involved and gave a fantastic statement. I paid enough money to get my daughter fast tracked. I went without to support my daughter.
