Does anyone here have any experience of getting a diagnosis for a child preferably female as displayed differently?

Due to Coronavirus I’m stuck in the house, with (pretty certain) autistic and adhd preschool child. I have to home work as a civil engineer. Finding it impossible as all the changes have made her very unsettled and behaviour has worsened again. so stressed right now.

Just need someone to talk to really and find out if they have faced same difficulties in getting help for child and myself.

You will not get the diagnosis immediately as it involves speech therapist, psychologist and the doctor.it could take up to 2 years for diagnosis.

To start the ball rolling I Suggest that you get appointment with gp if you can. monitor what food you give child as home cooked meals especially fish with omega 3 helps improves behaviour

Thanks sherinam. I’ve had two appointments with gp who are reluctant to give any help. The health visitor is going forward with getting the assessment started at least. Although it will take a long time at least the process has been started.
I have been fighting for two years to get this started. Absolutely drained by the amount of stigma regarding autism and more so adhd. And even more so by the way it is displayed in girls.

I have definitely found fish helps. The problem is that she is absolutely non stop from dawn til late at night and doesn’t understand boundaries. the more she doesn’t stop the more wound up she gets. I feel like I’m the only one who can force her to sit and stop as she doesn’t like being cuddled much unless it’s me. if I tell her she is with someone else for the day As I need to work she will still pester me every 10 minutes and do dangerous stuff or have meltdowns that have to be dealt with and she won’t be comforted by others.  it’s hard because she doesn’t understand no matter how I explain it. I guess it’s the issue with being the only parent as you’re their only safety net. We moved in with my mum but she doesn’t even let her comfort her. I’m exhausted.

You need to look at her diet. Most kids are non stop!!! Sounds like Adhd. Fish oil is quite good too.
