Hi all after some advise/clarification.
Im a single mum back in work catering for the first time in 6 years.
Last week dd, 3, was off nursery with a tummy bug.
I couldn’t find a friend or other childcare peoivder to take her while i worked so i was forced to take unpaid leave
That evening ds, 5, and ds, 7, also came down with said bug.
The rule is that a chikd must be kept away from school for 48 hours after the last episode.
I informed my area manager that i wouldnt be in work for at least the next 48 hours.
On my return to work, my area manager and senior manager both pulled me fir a disiplinary regarding absense stating “i dont care if your kids are ill we need you in work”
Where do i stand with this?
I have no family local to me due to having to relocate because of DV.
Ive worked with said school catering company for 2 months and only took 2 days off work to care for my children which i accepted as unpaid leave.
