Hi so i have a 2 year old daughter whos dad wasnt involved but has been seeing his daughter last few months once a fortnight. We do pick up and collect at a park right near my house so in the fresh air.when i collect my daughter the smell is terrible it makes me feel ill just standing near him and the thought of my daughter being in the car with him upsets me.Its not like he has run a marathon he just took her to a farm last time .it makes me think if he cant look after himself how can he care for her or be an example but he recently got married and he gets her to do everything , i think she must have low self esteam to think its exceptable to have hygiene like that.Am i being silly ? I am not sure what to do ?

Personally I’d email /text him your concerns and sugfest for the sake of your child that standards improve. That’s all you can do really. Good luck x

You know what some people are not bothered whether they smell or not . Everyone standards are different . It does not make u a bad parent!

Christmas is just around the corner so maybe a box of deodorant and shower gel.  He might get the message of he gets lynx spray in his stocking!

I have a similar issue with my ex. Dtr won’t take her toys with her “incase they get stinky” and we’ve had to leave him with changes of clothes because the smell from her overnight bag made her bedroom stink. Despite countless conversations there’s been no improvement. It’s one of those things you’ll probably just have to put up with.
