Just wondered if anyone could offer a little advice at all.

I have been recently diagnosed with bowel & liver cancer. I’ve had several appointments so far and in the next couple of weeks, I will be going in for surgery, and then will need to stay in hospital for a week or so.

My little girl (she’s 2) is a little confused by it all at the moment. She’s adjusted really well in terms of people watching her whilst I go to appointments, however when she’s with me she is a complete nightmare.

Just wondered if anyone had any advice at all in terms of explaining where mummy is going? Or do I just carry on with her going to other people and fuss over her when I’m with her?

I’m really sorry to read of your diagnosis and hope you go into remission as soon as possible.

It would be worth getting some specialist advice for your little one so contacting http://www.macmillan.org.uk might be an idea, they can help you not only with your illness but also advice and support for you both.

    All the best

    Mark
