Our community guidelines
Our forum community guidelines exist to make sure everyone feels safe, respected and welcome. We ask all users to commit to these when they register.
We do not allow:
- Racism
- Sexism
- Homophobia and transphobia
- Extreme swearing
- Personal details on the feed including your address, telephone number and email (these are allowed via private messaging)
- Selling things or promoting commercial ventures
- Spamming
- Explicit pictures and videos
- Trolling
- Bullying
- Behaviour and language that’s disruptive and deliberately offensive to other users
- Research and media requests without prior permission from Gingerbread
We strongly encourage users to:
- Take a non-judgemental approach to other users to facilitate connection and support
- Avoid giving instructive advice – this can lead to conflict and users can get professional advice from our freephone helpline
- Consider responding to posts from users who need support and haven’t yet received a reply
Our moderators operate a three-strike policy. This can lead to users being banned from the forum if their posts include any of the above. Our forum has a profanity filter, which blocks out words that break the forum rules.
If you are concerned about something on the forum or think we’ve missed something, hit the ‘report’ button on a post or contact us:
