“I decided to take part in the Big Fun Run initially because I wanted a personal goal to help me get fit and lose weight. Gingerbread has been a wonderful support network for me over the past 5 years since I had my daughter and first became a single parent. I was really pleased to learn that I would be able to participate in the run to raise some money for the charity. I have been working hard to bring more exercise into my daily routine, as being a single mum means I can't get out in the evenings to go to the gym, so lots of walking in addition to the usual running around after the children I hope will stand me in good stead for the 5k!
