Help Gingerbread's research into benefit changes
Are you claiming Income Support?
And are your children all older than 13?
If so, we'd really like to talk with you!
If you're on Income Support and you're a single parent with older children, it's quite likely that your benefits are going to be changing soon. Over the next few months, most parents in this situation are going to have to sign on for Jobseeker's Allowance instead of getting Income Support.
Here at Gingerbread, we think it's very important that we understand how the move to Jobseeker's Allowance affects parents and families. We also think we need to find out as soon as possible so that we can tell Government how they could improve single parents' experience of Jobcentres and the benefits system.
We're looking for parents to tell us about their experience of the changes. Even if you don't think it's going to make much difference to you, we'd still like you to be involved. It won't be difficult – all it involves is talking to our researcher and telling her a bit about your experience.
We'd like to chat to you before your benefits change and then again a few months afterwards. Anything you tell us is confidential. If you're interested in taking part, please get in touch now – we’d like to chat before things change for you.
You can phone Vicki (our researcher) on 020 7428 5780, call or text to 0750 603 1415, or you can email her at vicki.peacey@gingerbread.org.uk If you phone us, she'll phone you back so that we're paying for the call.
If you're worried about the changes and would like some advice, or just to talk it through with someone, call the Gingerbread Helpline on 0800 018 5026.
