The Welfare Reform Bill (currently going through Parliament) will enable the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission to take away the driving licences and passports of parents who persistenly fail to pay the child maintenance they owe.

The child maintenance system is changing. Single parents who are claiming benefits are no longer compelled to use the CSA to claim maintenance from the other parent, and there are several other important changes to child maintenance.
