January 2009

We aim to:

  • provide anyone bringing up children on their own with a fast, accurate and objective information service.
  • be a centre of excellence on single parent issues, in the provision of information and specialist advice services, in policy research and development, and in the design and delivery of professional services.
  • positively represent single parents and their children.
  • be an organisation which is prepared to be innovative and to take considered risks.
  • test and demonstrate new ways of working which provide models for mainstream services and inform the policy debate.
  • work strategically with partners from voluntary, public, and private sectors, to develop solutions to meeting the needs of single parents, and to ensure that our services are complementary.
  • treat all clients with respect and courtesy, and provide a non-judgmental, professional service.
  • protect the confidentiality of clients, supporters and partners.
  • consistently review our services, and monitor our performance, to ensure that we are meeting clients’ needs.
  • strive to be a learning organisation, which supports staff and volunteers to enable them to maximise their contribution to meeting the charity’s objectives.
  • be accountable to our clients, our funders, our members, and the public.
